Uniforms are required to participate. You may want to purchase a uniform size your child can wear for a few seasons.
When and where are practices held?
Practices are held typically once a week, possibly twice depending on the coach. The time and place of practice is determined by the head coach. We attempt to honor request, but that does not always happen.
Can I request a certain coach? How about carpooling needs?
For Division 1 and Division 2 we do everything possible to honor coaching and carpool requests. As the players get older a “draft” is instituted with the idea of having balance teams. The players have been rated by their previous coaches and then Division reps and coaches do their best to balance teams. It makes it a little more difficult to honor coaching and carpool requests, but we do the best we can.
I’d like to coach, but I’m not sure what I need to do.
All the coaches and board members in the Hauppauge Soccer league are volunteers. Most of them had no prior soccer experience. All you need is time, patience and the ability not to take things too seriously. We are here to help you. We will be having a coaches training seminar prior to the start of the season. (See calendar of events).
When are games played and where?
Games are mostly played on Sunday's in the Spring. There may be one or two Saturday games. The field locations are still to be determined. Spring 2010 season is slated to begin March 20th, 2010.
Can I volunteer for something besides coaching?
Absolutely! The club needs help with photo day, field lining, team parents etc. The club asks that all parents get involved in the program.
