Hauppauge Soccer League Supports "Kicks for Cancer" Plant Sale Initiative

At the Hauppauge Soccer League, we believe in the power of community and in making a positive difference in the lives of others. That's why we're thrilled to announce our unwavering support for the Kicks for Cancer plant sale, organized by the Hauppauge Girls Varsity Soccer team.

A Brief History of Kicks for Cancer

Kicks for Cancer has deep roots in our community. Founded in 2008 at Hauppauge High School, this initiative began as a heartfelt tribute to Courtney Tomkin, a then-junior diagnosed with brain cancer. Over the years, what started as a way to honor and support Courtney has blossomed into a significant fundraising event. The proceeds collected from this initiative are distributed among various esteemed organizations, including:

The Making Headway Foundation

The American Cancer Society

The ChadTough Defeat DIPG Foundation

The American Lung Association

The Make-a-Wish Foundation

The Courtney Tomkin Courage Scholarship

And to local families navigating the tumultuous waters of a cancer diagnosis or the pain of loss.
