The Hauppauge United Girls U11 team capped off their fall season with an unforgettable victory against the aggressive Rockville Centre Fury on Saturdayāone that showcased their grit, growth, and unwavering heart. Despite competing in a fiercely competitive premier division where nearly every match was decided by a single goal, the Unitedās dedication never wavered. Their hard work was evident all season long, and this final match proved just how far theyāve come.
It was a picture-perfect Saturday morning, and Hauppauge United stepped onto the field with fire in their bellies. From the opening whistle, they took control, dominating possession and keeping the play deep in their offensive end for most of the 30 minutes. Their relentless pressure paid off when forward Kika McDermottĀ sliced through a crowded defense with pure speed and tenacity, drilling a shot into the bottom left corner to put Hauppauge on the board.
But the attack didnāt stop there. Julia Wilson, Brooklynne Vertucci, and Alexa PerlstadtĀ were constant threats, creating wave after wave of offensive chances that forced the RVC keeper to stay sharp. Emersyn Drake, Edith Arevalo-Flores, and Kensie BuscherĀ brought energy and bravery, going toe-to-toe with a much taller Fury squad and sparking opportunities all over the field. Emma PinelliĀ delivered powerful shots and gorgeous corner kicks that kept Hauppaugeās momentum rolling.
On the defensive end, it was nothing short of a masterclass. Kaitlyn Asseng, Daniella Pinzon, and Tenley JensenĀ locked down the back line, shutting down RVCās speedy attackers and denying them any meaningful opportunities. And behind them stood Riley Franco, who was simply lights out in goal. With fearless clears, strong communication, and confident command of her box, Riley quarterbacked the defense and ensured the Fury never found their rhythm.
As the final whistle blew, the victory was more than just a wināit was a testament to a season of resilience, teamwork, and belief.
The Hauppauge United Girls U11 proved that records donāt define a teamāheart does. And this team has plenty of it ā½š„
