Hauppauge United Dominates the Weekend: Two Wins, Including 4-2 Triumph Over Syosset

On a picturesque fall day, October 19, Hauppauge United Soccer team delivered an outstanding performance in their matchup against Syosset, clinching a 4-2 victory. The game began at a slow pace but gained momentum as the minutes passed, with key players making crucial contributions both offensively and defensively.


Alexa Perlstadt’s relentless aggression set the tone early for United. Her persistence paid off, netting her a well-earned goal that shifted the tide in United’s favor. Aleyna Horasanli, a force on offense, kept the pressure on Syosset with several strikes on goal, keeping the defense on their toes.


Daniella Pinzon showcased her versatility, seamlessly transitioning between offense and defense. Her intelligent passing helped push the ball up the field and set up scoring opportunities. Emersyn Drake demonstrated her physicality winning the ball consistently and even stepping into the goalkeeper role with a strong performance.


Emma Pinelli, stationed up top, remained patient and ready to capitalize on chances. She got her moment thanks to Ashley Leinz, who made an excellent defensive play, winning a battle and driving the ball forward to Pinelli, who shot it past the goalkeeper.


Kaitlyn Asseng’s aggression in winning 50/50 battles and making smart plays opened up more chances for Hauppauge. She was instrumental in generating shots on goal.


Meanwhile, Kika McDermott put on a playmaking clinic, driving the ball up the field and delivering a perfect cross to Kensie Buscher, who smartly finished with a goal. McDermott herself added to the scoreline with a stunning shot of her own.


Tenley Jensen and Ashley Leinz, both playing dual roles in offense and defense, exhibited tenacity throughout the game, battling to win possession and working well with teammates to keep the pressure on Syosset.


Following their win on Saturday, the United carried their momentum into Sunday’s game against Garden City, securing a hard-fought 2-0 victory. Tenley Jensen made an instant impact, finding the back of the net just 10 seconds into the game, perfectly positioned for the early strike. Later in the match, Ashley Leinz, showcasing her versatility as a defender, made a brilliant run up the field and ripped a powerful shot past the keeper, sealing the win for United. With a 5-0 record this season, the team remains undefeated and faces four crucial games ahead.
