After a grueling weekend in Pennsylvania at the prestigious Delco Tournament, the Hauppauge Boro boys showed no signs of slowing down as they traveled to Peconic to face off against the always-formidable North Fork Baymen. Known for their clinical finishing and top-tier goaltending, the Baymen came out aggressively, aiming to set the tone early and push Boro off their game.
North Fork controlled the tempo to start, winning nearly every 50/50 ball and eventually converting that pressure into a 1-0 lead. But the deficit didn’t rattle Boro—instead, it lit a fire.
With sheer determination and a direct attack through the heart of the field, Boro struck back swiftly. Anthony Fasanello powered his way through traffic and fired in the equalizer, leveling the score and shifting the momentum. The Baymen attempted to retaliate, but defenders Xander Basso and Leo Damari stood tall, shutting down opportunities with fearless tackling and smart positioning.
On the counter, Richie Kunkle was a menace—his speed and tenacity forced North Fork into dangerous fouls and earned Boro multiple free kicks. That pressure paid off when a defensive misstep gave Fasanello just enough room to strike again, giving Boro the lead going into halftime.
The second half saw a focused and fired-up Boro, anchored by the unwavering presence of goalkeeper Leo Bonica-Delgado. "LBD" turned away shot after shot, commanding his box and energizing his teammates with every save. But even his brilliance couldn’t stop a spectacular long-range effort from the Baymen that knotted the game at 2-2.
Boro didn’t flinch. Instead, they responded with grit, intensity, and unity. Every player dug deep—chasing down loose balls, blocking shots, and pushing forward with relentless energy. Their resilience was rewarded when a dangerous run into the box earned a penalty. Caleb Cabales, cool and composed, stepped up and buried it in the top right corner—clinching the lead with a striker’s finish.
The win was a true team effort. Henry Biondo, Jack Langlois, and JJ Muilenberg frustrated North Fork’s midfield with smart, controlled play. They dictated the rhythm, made crisp passes, and never backed down from a challenge. Every Boro player left it all on the field.
This match was more than a win—it was a showcase of heart, teamwork, and pride. Boro plays for each other, and their unity is what sets them apart. In every tackle, every goal, and every save, they honor the game—and their performance today left their fans and families beaming with pride.
The Hauppauge Boro continues to prove they’re not just a team to watch—they’re a team to admire!
