The Hauppauge Alliance soccer team closed out their spring season in style, defeating Dix Hills 5-2 in a decisive and spirited final match. After edging out Dix Hills 3-1 in their first meeting earlier this spring, Alliance came into the rematch determined to finish the season strong—and they did just that.
The tone was set early when Bo Langlois found the back of the net within the first ten minutes, giving Alliance an early lead. However, Dix Hills quickly capitalized on a defensive mix-up, leveling the score in the first half.
Unfazed, Alliance regrouped, and just before halftime, Langlois struck again with his second goal of the day, regaining the lead and sending Alliance into the break up 2-1 and full of confidence.
The second half began as a tense, back-and-forth affair, but Alliance soon began to assert themselves, pinning Dix Hills in their own half and earning multiple corner kicks. Captain Nick Martinovich made one of those count, blasting in a third goal off a corner to give Alliance some breathing room.
With solid defensive effort and smart midfield play, Alliance limited Dix Hills’ chances down the stretch. Mike D’Allessandro then sealed the deal with a fifth and final goal, locking up a 5-2 victory and a memorable end to the season.
This win was a fitting capstone to a competitive year that saw Alliance battle hard against top-tier opponents from Pennsylvania, upstate New York, Queens, New York City, and Long Island. No matter the scoreline, Alliance brought heart, hustle, and unshakable team spirit to every match.
