The Rush Bring Home Another Gold!

The Rush Bring Home Another Gold!

The Rush have been on the road to the EDP League Cup final since last November. In the fall Group Stage, they advanced to their spot in the Knockout Round with a record of 3-0.

They first took it on the road in November to Putnam Valley, where they beat JPSC Seniors Premier Red 4-0, then defeated NHP Panthers at home 6-2. They secured first place in the Group Stage after a forfeit by Soccer Stars United Solstice.

The Knockout Round began in April with the Quarterfinals match at their home field as they defeated Quickstrike FC La Finca in an exciting match that remained tied, after double OTs leading to PKs to determine a winner, in which the Rush were victorious again. The Semifinal match was played at home vs. Uruguayan SC where the Rush held a clean sheet with a 4-0 WIN.

The June 8th, FINAL was nothing short of exciting. In a close, competitive match vs. Revolution United FC, regulation ended in a 1-1 tie, sending them straight to a penalty shootout. Five straight goals by each team led us to a sixth shooter…with the Rush up 6-5…the next shot by RUFC was denied, securing the Rush as the 2024 EDP League Cup CHAMPIONS!!

Who scored along the way? The Rush did. The Rush win TOGETHER, lose TOGETHER, play TOGETHER, score TOGETHER. Yes, someone puts it in the net, but it’s the full team effort that gets the job done. All of these boys played vital roles in this amazing journey. Their valiant, cumulative efforts makes them stronger with each practice and each time they step on the pitch. They have learned to depend on each other, support each other, and encourage each other, leading them to many incredible successes.
